Police Department Releases Crime Report
The Durham Police Department's 2015 Annual Crime Report<http://www.durhamnc.gov/agendas_new/2016/cm20160307/10947_MEMO_2015_FOURTH_QUARTER-ANNUA_383838_677261.PDF> shows that while overall crime dropped by 1 percent last year, there was an 18 percent increase in violent crime.

City Council Approves New Police Headquarters Design
The City Council has chosen a design for the Police Department's new headquarters<http://durhamnc.gov/749/Durham-Police-Headquarters-Complex>. Construction on the new building is expected to begin by this winter.

GoDurham to Get New and Replacement Buses
GoDurham will be getting up to 27 new and replacement clean diesel buses<http://www.durhamnc.gov/agendas_new/2016/cws20160307/10962_MEMO_PURCHASE_CONTRACT_-_BUSES_384120_679528.PDF> over the next five years. The funding will come from two federal grants and one-half cent sales tax revenue.


Residents Urged to Fix Water Leaks
The Water Management Department is encouraging residents to fix water-wasting leaks during Fix-a-Leak Week<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/9314>. Water efficiency and leak detection clinics will be held this month at two home improvement stores.
