Most City of Durham Offices Closed for Good Friday Holiday
Durham Residents are Asked to Take Note of Changes in Multiple City Services

DURHAM, N.C. - Most City of Durham offices will be closed Friday, March 25, 2016, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. The City will operate under normal business hours on Monday, March 28.

Police, fire, and rescue services for life-threatening or in-progress emergencies may be reached by calling 9-1-1. Non-emergency problems or concerns may be directed to (919) 560-4600. Residents are asked to take note of the following changes in other City services and programs.

Solid Waste, Recycling, Yard Waste, and Bulky Item Curbside Collections
The City's Solid Waste Management Department will be closed on Friday, March 25. There are no changes to recycling or garbage collection<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/8584> schedules. Collections for yard waste and bulky items<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/8585> on Friday, March 25 will instead occur on Monday, March 28.


Waste Disposal & Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and Household Hazardous Waste Center
The Waste Disposal & Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and the Household Hazardous Waste Center<http://nc-durham.civicplus.com/898/Disposal-Facilities> will be closed on Friday, March 25, and will reopen under normal operating schedules on Saturday, March 26.


Durham Parks and Recreation
Durham Parks and Recreation<http://durhamnc.gov/753/Parks-Recreation> will close its administrative office, all recreation centers, and all indoor rental sites on Friday, March 25. All recreation centers and indoor rental sites will operate under normal schedules on Saturday, March 26. The administrative office will reopen under its normal schedule on Monday, March 28. Durham One Call will forward all requests for City services to the appropriate department on the next business day. For information about the City's holiday schedule and any other services that may be affected, contact Durham One Call at (919) 560-1200 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
