Durham Hosts Police Chief Candidate Community Forum
Public Forum for Residents to Meet Finalists April 6

What:              Police Chief Candidate Community Forum

When:             Wednesday, April 6, 2016, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where:            Durham City Hall Council Chambers
                        101 City Hall Plaza
                        Durham, N.C. 27701

Fast Facts:
*         The hiring process for Durham's next police chief is entering into the final stage with the top two candidates participating in a community forum in two weeks.  The names of the two finalists will be released to the public and the news media on Tuesday, March 29.


*         The community forum will also be televised live on Durham Television Network (DTN)<http://durhamnc.gov/1104/Durham-Television-Network>, which is available on Time Warner Cable channel 8 and AT&T U-verse channel 99, on DTN's live stream from the City's website<http://durhamnc.gov/1104/Durham-Television-Network>, and live streamed from the City's Facebook page<https://www.facebook.com/CityofDurhamNC/>.

*         The final two applicants were selected after undergoing an extensive screening process, including an assessment center held February 29 through March 1, as well as a telephone interview and writing exercise conducted by the firm leading the search, Developmental Associates, LLC<https://www.developmentalassociates.com/>.

*         The City remains on track with the recruitment process and the timeline as previously announced with the goal of having the position offered in April, and the selected candidate starting in May.
