Durham Names New Police Chief
Cerelyn "CJ" Davis has been named Durham's new police chief<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/10236>. She will assume her duties with the Durham Police Department on June 6. Davis was chosen after a four-month search process that included community meetings, intensive screenings, interviews, background checks, and a public forum.

Little Lick Creek Watershed Improvement Plan Now Available
Durham's plan to improve the Little Lick Creek watershed<http://durhamnc.gov/960/Little-Lick-Creek-Watershed-Plan> are now available. The final plan was presented to residents during an information session on April 21. Public Works Department Civil Engineer Sandra Wilbur explains the goals of the plan and why it's needed.

Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival May 21
Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival<http://durhamnc.gov/999/Bimbe-Cultural-Arts-Festival> will be held on Saturday, May 21 from noon to 8 p.m. at Rock Quarry Park. The free family-oriented event is a celebration of African and African American history, culture, arts and traditions. Festival activities will include live music, a Kids' Zone, arts and crafts, and ethnic food.
