[Durham INC] Help build a new playground at Crest Street Park

KaBOOM! Playground Build at Crest Street Park
Friends, we need over 100 volunteers to help build a playground and bring joy to children of all ages!
Do you enjoy building things? Do you enjoy working in a team? Do you enjoy working with children? Are you passionate about your community and giving back to your community? If the answer was “ YES!” to any of the above, then you will LOVE participating in this event.
WHO: Durham Parks and Recreation, Keep Durham Beautiful, the Duke Durham Neighborhood Partnership, the Crest Street Community and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina are partnering with KaBOOM!, the national nonprofit dedicated to giving kids the childhood they deserve by bringing play to those who need it most.
WHAT:  We are building a playground at Crest Street Park to bring PLAY to children’s lives and we need YOUR help!
WHEN:
Prep-Day 1- Monday, August 22, 2016   I8 am- 4:30 pmI
Prep-Day 2 (Tentative)- Tuesday, August 23, 2016   I8 am- 4:30 pmI
Playground Build Day- Wednesday, August 24, 2016   I8 am- 3:30 pmI   * Most volunteers will be needed for this day*

Notes and Requirements:

●     Multiple volunteer role opportunities are available (Play Team: Youth Supervisors, Food Team, Registration Table Team, Team Leaders, and Build Day Volunteers.)

●     Food and beverages will be provided to all of our volunteers.

●     Prep day volunteers must be 18 + years of age.

●     Build day volunteers 16 -17 years of age are welcome to participate in the building at the construction sites with a KaBOOM! waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

●     Youth 5-15 years of age are encouraged to participate in our fun youth activities but will not be permitted to participate in the building at the construction sites.

●     Child care will not be provided for children under the age of 5, please plan to arrange for your own child care.

●     This is a rain or shine event
