Increasing Development In Eno River Sewer Shed Prompts Sanitary Sewer Improvements
Increasing development in the Eno River sewer shed is prompting some significant sanitary sewer improvements<http://cityordinances.durhamnc.gov/OnBaseAgendaOnline/Documents/ViewDocument/Final-Published%20Attachment%20-%2011361%20-%20MEMO%20-%20ENO%20RIVER%20OUTFALL%20AND%20ENO%20LIFT.pdf?meetingId=140&documentType=Agenda&itemId=1557&publishId=7207&isSection=false> to that area. The City will spend just over $1.6 million on engineering services to evaluate and design improvements to the Eno River outfall and lift station.
Business Owners Encouraged to Register for Minority Enterprise Development Week
Business owners are encouraged to register by September 30 for this year's Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED)<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/12290> activities. 2016 MED Week will be observed October 3-7, and special events include a seminar focusing on new projects, an honors breakfast, a business fair, and a golf day.
As Leaves Begin to Fall, Residents Encouraged to Sign Up For Durham's Yard Waste Program
As leaves begin to fall, the Solid Waste Management Department is encouraging residents to consider signing up for its optional yard waste program<http://durhamnc.gov/891/Yard-Waste>. For just $7.50 each month added to your water bill, you'll receive weekly curbside collection to help keep your yard looking great.
Barktoberfest Set for October 16
Anyone who has loved Durham's Woofstock celebration over the years is sure to love Barktoberfest<http://durhamnc.gov/2698/Barktoberfest>. This celebration of all things canine will feature the traditions of Woofstock with additional new and exciting activities. The event will be held on Sunday, October 16 at Rock Quarry Park.
