In a bit of good news, after a lengthy debate, the House voted down the billboard bill, 49-66.

Thanks to all who called or wrote their House members.  This was a hard won vote, but we had a great coalition with the Municipalities, Scenic NC, and others.

We will send out a list of  House members to thank-- if your House Rep voted as you asked them to, PLEASE be sure to thank him or her!  (A number of legislators offered helpful amendments, at our request).

And everyone who has followed or acted on this issue should send a note to thank Rep. McGrady (chuck.mcgrady at ncleg.net<mailto:chuck.mcgrady at ncleg.net>), who led this effort.
