Central Park Waterline Replacement Project Update and Two-Week Look Ahead

April 12, 2018

The City appreciates your ongoing patience with the work along the busy corridors associated with the Central Park Waterline Replacement Project.  Additional information regarding this project can be found at: http://durhamnc.gov/1251/Durham-Central-Park-Waterline-Replacement.

Planned Road / Lane Closures will occur as follows:

  *   Week of 4/16:
     *   Foster Street southbound will be closed between Hunt Street and Morgan Street.
     *   Intersection of Foster Street and Seminary Avenue will be closed.
     *   Seminary Avenue will be closed between Foster Street and North Duke Street.
     *   Liggett Street, Fuller Street, Corporation Street between North Duke and Foster Street, and Foster Street between Corporation Street and W Morgan Street may be closed temporarily for milling and repaving as equipment becomes available.


  *   Week of 4/23:
     *   Foster Street southbound will be closed between Hunt Street and Morgan Street.
     *   Intersection of Foster Street and Seminary Avenue will be closed.
     *   Seminary Avenue will be closed between Foster Street and North Duke Street.
     *   Liggett Street, Fuller Street, Corporation Street between North Duke and Foster Street, and Foster Street between Corporation Street and W Morgan Street may be closed temporarily for milling and repaving as equipment becomes available.

Week of April 16, 2018:

  *   Foster Street will be reduced to one lane as water line installation continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.

  *   Seminary Avenue will be closed as sewer line installation begins.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   Periodic one-lane interruptions will occur on Liggett Street between Corporation Street and Fernway Avenue as water services are connected to the new water line.

     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   Periodic one-lane interruptions will occur on Corporation Street between Foster Street and North Duke Street as water services are connected to the new water line.

     *   No work planned.
