County to Relocate Multiple Offices to Newly Renovated Administration Building
Select Offices to Relocate September 4th - 21st
Move Will Include Some Service Interruptions
Durham, N.C. - Durham County Government has completed its renovation of Administration Building II, also referred to as Admin II, located at 201 E. Main Street. The building, once housing administrative offices and formerly the Durham County Judicial Building, will become home to nearly ten county and state offices as of September 21, 2018. Relocation of the following offices will begin the first week of September:
* September 4th: Emergency Medical Services Administration and Tax Administration
* September 5th: Tax Administration
* September 6th - 7th: Register of Deeds
* September 11th: North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation District, North Carolina Forest Services and General Services
* September 12th: Engineering and Environmental Services, Economic Development
* September 21st: Offices and State of North Carolina Juvenile Justice
Residents and visitors seeking services provided by the aforementioned offices should note that the transition may include suspended or delayed services. During the relocation of Emergency Medical Services Administrative Offices on September 4th first responder services will not be interrupted. Services provided by Tax Administration September 4th and 5th will be extremely limited during the move. The Register of Deeds Office will be closed during their transitional period of September 6th and 7th.
According to County Manager Wendell M. Davis," 201 East Main Street is now a contemporary adaptive reuse space that affords Durham County Government the ability to continue its goal of locating and consolidating services in County owned space within the government services district. The modern design contributes to the vibrancy of the great things happening in downtown Durham."
