County Seeks Public Input on Proposed Northern Durham Convenience Site
Open house to be held March 19th from 6-8 p.m. at Bahama Ruritan Club


Durham, NC - The public is invited to provide input as Durham County staff will host a community open house on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, to share the proposed site plan for a new solid waste convenience site on U.S. Highway 501 between Rougemont and Bahama. The Northern Durham Convenience Center Community Open House will be held at the Bahama Ruritan Club, 8202 Stagville Rd., from 6-8 p.m.



The proposed facility will replace the Bahama and Rougemont Convenience sites and provide more capacity and better amenities. The two current sites are located on leased land and must be closed. At the open house, attendees will be able to learn more about the project and provide valuable input on the services and amenities planned for the new site. Project team members Durham County General Services, Durham County Engineering and Environmental Services and HDR Engineering will be available to discuss the project.
