Durham Hosts 2019 Golden Leaf Awards April 18

Free Event Open to the Public; Voting for People's Choice Award Ends March 25

DURHAM, N.C. - Who will walk away with the Golden Leaf award for their Durham property voted to be the best in their category? Mark your calendar now to find out at the 2019 Golden Leaf Awards Reception and Ceremony.

This year's event is set for Thursday, April 18 beginning at 6 p.m. in the newly renovated lobby of the Legacy Tower (formally the NC Mutual Life Building), located at 411 W. Chapel Hill St. The event is free, open to the public, and Durham residents are encouraged to attend. New for this year, the ceremony is forgoing a formal presentation for a gallery-style award ceremony where guests are invited to browse the displays of the various award winners.

Hosted by the Durham City-County Appearance Commission and Keep Durham Beautiful, the event will recognize properties that provide positive attributes to the built environment. Homeowners, building owners, architects, landscape architects, developers, realtors, and anyone involved in design, planning, and construction in Durham have entered projects completed within the last five years for this year's competition.

Residents are also encouraged to visit the 2019 Golden Leaf Awards website at www.DurhamGoldenLeaf.com<http://www.DurhamGoldenLeaf.com> by Monday, March 25 to review all of the nominated properties and cast their vote for their favorite project for the People's Choice Award.
