Most City of Durham Offices Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Residents Asked to Note Changes in City-Provided Services

DURHAM, N.C. - Most City of Durham offices, including City Hall and all non-emergency City operations, will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day<https://durhamnc.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=2178>.

Police, fire, and rescue services for life-threatening or in-progress emergencies may be reached by calling 911. Non-emergency problems or concerns may be directed to (919) 560-4600. Residents are asked to make note of the following changes in other City-provided services and programs.

City Council Regular Business Meeting
The City Council meeting<https://durhamnc.gov/AgendaCenter>, which normally takes place the first and third Mondays of each month, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21 beginning at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, located on the first floor of City Hall at 101 City Hall Plaza. This regular business meeting will be livestreamed on the City's YouTube<https://youtube.com/CityofDurhamNC>, Facebook<https://www.facebook.com/CityofDurhamNC>, and Twitter<https://twitter.com/CityofDurhamNC> pages as well as on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon through the free Boxcast app. The meeting will also be televised live on the City's website<http://durham.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2> and on Durham Television Network (Spectrum channel 8, Google Fiber channel 8, Frontier channel 70, and AT&T U-verse channel 99).

Solid Waste, Recycling, Yard Waste, and Bulky Service Curbside Collections
The Solid Waste Management Department<https://durhamnc.gov/832/Solid-Waste-Management> will be closed on January 20. The revised collection schedule for all curbside services reflects a one-day delay in garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky services collections for all customers as follows:
*        Monday customers will receive collections on Tuesday, January 21.
*        Tuesday customers will receive collections on Wednesday, January 22.
*        Wednesday customers will receive collections on Thursday, January 23.
*        Thursday customers will receive collections on Friday, January 24.
*        Friday customers (yard waste and bulky services only) will receive collections on Monday, January 27.

The Waste Disposal &<https://durhamnc.gov/898/Disposal-Facilities> Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility,<https://durhamnc.gov/898/Disposal-Facilities> <https://durhamnc.gov/898/Disposal-Facilities> and the Household Hazardous Waste Center<https://durhamnc.gov/898/Disposal-Facilities> will also be closed January 20. Durham Parks and Recreation
Durham Parks and Recreation<https://durhamnc.gov/753/Parks-Recreation> will close its administrative office and all recreation centers on January 20. Water Management
Normal operating hours for the Water Management Department's Water and Sewer Maintenance Division are from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Water main break<https://durhamnc.gov/1344/Report-Water-Main-Breaks> and sewer overflow<https://durhamnc.gov/1346/Report-Sewer-Overflows-Backups> calls for service placed after-hours, weekends or on City-recognized holidays should be directed to the department's after-hours emergency phone number at (919) 560-4344, which will dispatch on-call crews. Durham One Call
Durham One Call<https://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call> will be closed on January 20. Residents may submit a service request using the free Durham One Call smartphone app available in the Apple<https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/durham-one-call/id1201890986?mt=8> and Google Play<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.accela.durham_nc&hl=en> stores, complete and submit an online service request<https://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call>, or leave a message at (919) 560-1200. Durham One Call will forward all requests for City services to the appropriate department on the next business day.

Park Durham
The P<https://www.parkdurham.org/>ark Durham<https://www.parkdurham.org/> Customer Service Center, located at 105 W. Morgan St., Suite 400, will be closed on January 20. On City-designated holidays, customers may park for free in any of the City's parking garages and surface lots<https://www.parkdurham.org/160/Parking-Facilities> and in on-street metered parking spaces<https://www.parkdurham.org/153/On-Street-Metered-Parking>.

GoDurham and GoDurham ACCESS
