I hope you can spend some time learning about the African-American
Experience in Durham by joining this panel discussion hosted by the Friends
of Geer Cemetery Saturday, February 20, at 11 a.m. The Friends of Geer
Cemetery is a local non-profit dedicated to the reclamation and preservation
of Geer Cemetery - Durham's oldest African-American burial ground. The
panel for Saturday's discussion is made up of eminent scholars and
activists. Here is the invitation:

IN PLAIN SIGHT, Reclaiming, Hidden, Histories - A VIRTUAL PANEL, DISCUSSION

How do historic spaces like Geer Cemetery reflect inequality? How can
today's activists work to change that?

Please join the Friends of Geer Cemetery on Saturday, February 20, at 11
a.m., for a panel discussion on Zoom and Facebook Live, moderated by FoGC
Vice President JAMES STEWART, IV.

To register, please visit the Events page at https://durhaminplainsight.com/
. After you register for the virtual event and while you are on this page,
please click on the "More about the Exhibit" button and learn about Geer
Cemetery. It is one of the most important artifacts of Durham history -
sacred and beautiful place to be studied, remembered, and preserved.
