BOCC to Hold May 10th Regular Session Virtually
Residents Can Access Live Broadcasts Online or Durham Television Network

Durham, N.C. - Due to the ongoing social distancing restrictions in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Durham Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will continue to hold its meetings virtually. The next Regular Session is Monday, May 10, 2021, at 7 p.m. During the meeting County Manager Wendell Davis will present his Recommended Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 to the Board.

The virtual option aligns with social distancing requirements which ensures the safety of citizens who wish to participate as well as Board members and Durham County Government staff. Citizens who wish to view the BOCC meeting can watch it live on the Durham Television Network live on Spectrum Channel 8. The meeting will also be streamed live on the County's website<https://www.dconc.gov/county-departments/departments-a-e/board-of-commissioners/commissioner-meetings-and-announcements/bocc-agendas-video-library> and on the County's YouTube channel<http://www.youtube.com/dcowebmaster>. Replays are available on DTN, along with AT&T U-verse Channel 99, Google Fiber Channel 8 and Frontier Communications Channel 70.

During the meeting, there will be two public hearings in which residents can sign up in advance to provide their comments on:


  1.  21-0288 - Public Hearing - Parmer Way Renaming
  2.  21-0289 - Public Hearing - Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment, Omnibus Changes 16 (TC21000001)

Residents wishing to comment on the public hearings must sign up by emailing the Durham County Clerk to the Board at clerk at dconc.gov<mailto:clerk at dconc.gov> no later than 2 p.m. on Monday, May 10. The call-in information for the public hearing will be shared to those individuals after they have emailed the Clerk.

Please note: According to the remote public hearing policy and procedures, the County will receive written comments in connection with this public hearing for 24 hours following the conclusion of the public hearing in compliance with state statute regarding virtual public hearings. At the May 24, 2021 meeting, the Board will consider adoption of an approving those items.

Residents wishing to submit comments regarding other agenda items should do so via email to clerk at dconc.gov<mailto:clerk at dconc.gov> by Sunday, May 9 at 12 p.m.

The recommended budget will be available to view or download on the Budget Management Services website after the meeting at https://bit.ly/DCoBudgetDocuments. Residents are encouraged to visit the Durham County Online Budget Citizen Feedback Form to give their comments on priorities for the FY 2021-2022 Budget Ordinance at https://bit.ly/DCoBudgetPortal21-22.
