BOCC to Hold May 24th Regular Session Virtually
Residents Can Access Live Broadcasts Online or Durham Television Network

Durham, N.C. - Due to the ongoing social distancing restrictions in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Durham Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will continue to hold its meetings virtually. The next Regular Session is Monday, May 24, 2021, at 7 p.m.

The virtual option aligns with social distancing requirements which ensures the safety of citizens who wish to participate as well as Board members and Durham County Government staff. Citizens who wish to view the BOCC meeting can watch it live on the Durham Television Network live on Spectrum Channel 8. The meeting will also be streamed live on the County's website<https://www.dconc.gov/county-departments/departments-a-e/board-of-commissioners/commissioner-meetings-and-announcements/bocc-agendas-video-library> and on the County's YouTube channel<http://www.youtube.com/dcowebmaster>. Replays are available on DTN, along with AT&T U-verse Channel 99, Google Fiber Channel 8 and Frontier Communications Channel 70.

During the meeting, there will be two public hearings:


  1.  21-0300 - Public Hearing to Consider Allocating Economic Development Funds to Project Pine
  2.  21-0321 - Public Hearing on the FY 2021-22 County Manager's Recommended Budget

Residents wishing to comment on the public hearings must submit them no later than 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 23.

The recommended budget is available to view or download on the Budget Management Services website at https://bit.ly/DCoBudgetDocuments. Residents are encouraged to visit the Durham County Online Budget Citizen Feedback Form any time to give their comments on priorities for the FY 2021-2022 Budget Ordinance at https://bit.ly/DCoBudgetPortal21-22.

Please note: According to the remote public hearing policy and procedures, the County will receive written comments in connection with this public hearing for 24 hours following the conclusion of the public hearing in compliance with state statute regarding virtual public hearings. At a future meeting, the Board will consider adoption of an approving those items.
