Hello all,



There is increasing urgency for people to get vaccinated against COVID-19
as the more dangerous new Delta variant is rapidly spreading in North
Carolina, including among the farmworker community. The COVID-19 vaccines
are still the best protection against the virus and its variants, so we are
encouraging continuing outreach about the importance of getting
vaccinated.  We want to ensure you are aware of the following information
to ensure the safety and well-being for the farmworker community.



As you’re doing outreach to farmers, please help us share the following
information and messages:



All Walmart, Ingles, and Walgreens pharmacies now have Moderna vaccines
available without appointments. This includes on Sundays. All vaccines are
free and no health insurance or copay is required. Pharmacies also have the
ability to use a language line for interpretation. Please be sure that
growers, outreach workers and farmworkers are aware of this vaccine
availability as so many farmworkers shop at these places on Sundays.



We are seeing farmworkers falling sick with COVID a few days after arrival
from Mexico. When you have newly arrived farmworkers, we strongly urge you
to have them live, transport and work separately from your current workers
for 14 days. We recommend:



   - Testing all newly arriving workers upon arrival
   - Housing workers in groups as small as possible
   - Regardless of vaccination status, requiring masks of all workers when
   being transported, and encouraging mask-wearing when indoors with others,
   including in migrant housing
   - Testing any workers who are showing symptoms of COVID-19 and isolating
   them from others immediately

Hay una mayor urgencia de que las personas se vacunen contra el COVID-19,
ya que la nueva variante Delta es más peligrosa, se está extendiendo
rápidamente en Carolina del Norte, incluyendo en la comunidad de
trabajadores agrícolas. Las vacunas contra el COVID-19 actualmente
disponibles son la mejor protección contra el virus y sus variantes, por
eso estamos alentando la divulgación continua sobre la importancia de
vacunarse. Queremos asegurarnos de que ustedes tengan la siguiente
información para garantizar la seguridad y el bienestar de la comunidad de
trabajadores agrícolas.



Al conducir visitas de alcance a los granjeros/contratistas, por favor
compartan la información y los mensajes siguientes:



Todas las farmacias de Walmart, Ingles y Walgreens ahora ofrecen la vacuna
Moderna sin necesitar cita, incluyendo los domingos. Todas las vacunas son
gratuitas y no se requiere seguro médico ni un copago. Las farmacias
también cuentan con una línea de interpretación. Por favor asegúrese de que
los contratistas y los trabajadores de alcance, y los trabajadores
agrícolas sepan sobre la disponibilidad de estas vacunas, ya que muchos
trabajadores van de compras a estos lugares los domingos.



Estamos observando que trabajadores agrícolas se están enfermando de COVID
unos días después de su llegada de México. Cuando haya trabajadores
agrícolas recién llegados, le recomendamos encarecidamente que por favor
los haga vivir, transportar y trabajar separados de sus trabajadores
actuales durante 14 días. Si es posible:

   - se recomienda que se les haga pruebas del COVID-19 al llegar
   - se recomienda que los aloje en grupos lo más pequeños que sea posible
   - Sin importar su estatus de vacunación, requiera que los trabajadores
   utilicen mascarillas al ser transportados, y recomiende el uso de
   mascarillas en lugares interiores al estar con otras personas, incluyendo
   en sus viviendas
   - Realizar pruebas a los trabajadores que presenten síntomas de COVID-19
   y aislarlos de los demás de inmediato.

necesita mudar a una vivienda diferente, como esto es requerido por el
