Passing along a request from NC DHHS to help recruit participants for a PSA
about long COVID. Recruitment flyers are attached in English and Spanish,
and details are below.

Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to develop and place a series of ads
featuring long-hauler testimonials as part of North Carolina’s statewide
COVID-19 vaccine communication campaign, *You Have a Spot, Take Your Shot*

which found that roughly one-third of American adults are unaware of long
COVID. After viewing a series of video testimonials

 from people suffering from long COVID (long-haulers), *64% of the
respondents said they are more concerned about the condition*. And notably,
about *40% of those who are unvaccinated said they are more likely to
consider getting vaccinated after hearing the long-hauler testimonials*.
This includes 45% of 18- to 29-year-olds, 49% of Hispanics, 43% of African
Americans, 35% of Caucasians, and 31% of those who are vaccine-hesitant.

*We are moving quickly to identify patients who are interested in
potentially being featured in the campaign and need some help*. We are
having an especially difficult time reaching/identifying young men and
individuals from the Black, Latinx, and Brown communities, so this support
would very much be appreciated! The long haulers featured in the campaign
will be compensated (although we are not broadcasting this, as we hope to
attract patients with altruistic motivations).

*Recruitment criteria:*

ü  18 to 29 years of age,

ü  Are fully vaccinated,

ü  Had a confirmed case of COVID-19, and

ü  Are experiencing long COVID symptoms at least 12 weeks after COVID-19
diagnosis.

Suggested language to use while reaching out to your network:

Resolve to Save Lives is looking for Long COVID patients between the ages
of 18-29 who want to share their stories. They are teaming up with state
and local health departments to develop a media campaign to raise awareness
of Long COVID and the importance of getting vaccinated. If you have any
patients or know someone who is 18 to 29 years of age, fully vaccinated,
had a confirmed case of COVID-19, and is experiencing long COVID symptoms
at least 12 weeks after COVID-19 diagnosis, please contact

long-haulers a voice in this campaign!
