Hi,

I am sharing this meeting information with you because often when I attend
meetings of this sort, I am usually one of the very few voices in the room.
It is vitally important, for those who live in these rural flood plains, to
be a part of the conversation.

In the wake of Hurricane Ida, millions are left without access to clean
drinking water; sewage is pouring into the Mississippi River, and some of
our poorest residents in the Northeast drowned in basement apartments. From
clean and safe water accessibility to sea level rise, we in the South know
that climate and water policy are deeply connected. Congress is on the
verge of passing a multi-trillion dollar infrastructure package and
spending bill, but we know this is not enough. And we must ensure our
Southern voices are part of the national conversation.

opportunity to play a larger role in influencing federal water policy. We
need your input to make sure the South is heard. Together we can infuse our
collective Southern energy and a clear focus on our water and climate
issues. This call is for Southern leaders working on water, water justice
allies, fisherfolk, farmers, and anyone who is affected by water
