The Preservation Durham Annual Home Tour is back for 2021. Visit homes
which reflect the Tudor Revival architecture style in Durham from cottages
to mansions. October 16 & 17, 2021. The Pinecrest Estate at 1050 West
Forest Hills Blvd will be the feature property on the tour.

Preservation Durham's annual home tour is an important part of Preservation
Durham's mission -- to protect Durham's historic assets through action,
advocacy, and education. The tour enables Preservation Durham to showcase
homes that have been lovingly maintained or rehabilitated, with the hope of
inspiring all of Durham's residents to place a high value on stewardship of
our shared architectural heritage and the story it can tell. This year's
tour will take place from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, and Sunday,
October 17.

The day of home tour headquarters will be at 1044 W. Forest Hills Blvd, the
Pinecrest Carriage House. All ticket purchasers must start here to pick up
the home tour booklet, which is their "ticket" to the tour.

Early Bird Tickets: $29.53/person (includes taxes and fees)

   - All tour attendees must wear masks during the tour.
   - Only vaccinated persons may attend the tour.
   - All tour attendees must have a COVID-19 vaccination card as proof of
   vaccination.

Sara Lachenman, owner and principal designer at Four Over One Design, will
provide an in-depth understanding of the Tudor Revival style of
architecture and Tudor Revival style homes in Durham, NC.

Sara earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College in Studio Art. She
then attended graduate school at UNC-Greensboro and received a MS in
Interior Architecture with a concentration in Historic Preservation –
setting herself at the intersection of preservation and design. She
accepted a position at Trinity Design/Build as the Director of Design and
Preservation completing 17 renovations, additions, and remodels. After
three years Sara founded her own company and named it 4/1 Design. Sara
particularly appreciates being able to customize her services to what a
client really needs for a given project.

Every year the historic home tour hosts an educational lecture to accompany
the year’s theme. Join us as we explore this architectural theme.
