Whether it is written or spoken, language and dialect differences are a
potential barrier to providing quality 2Gen programs to immigrant families,
as well as successfully connecting them to employment, housing, education
and other opportunities. What are some promising practices that work to
grow language skills that can advance the lives of parents and children

they are in their family life, to early childhood education that centers
the language needs of families together, organizations will share their
experience translating materials and tailoring programs for the needs of
immigrant parents and children. *Register Here*

News Article: *Changes in Child Tax Credit Have Bigger Impact on Rural
Families*

The Child Tax Credit (CTC) is a powerful tool for reducing economic
inequality in rural America through monthly payments that help working
families cover the cost of raising a child. In 2021, the CTC underwent
major changes that allowed families to receive higher tax credit amounts
and eliminated the minimum income requirement that previously prevented
many families from being eligible.

In the linked news article, the Daily Yonder *created a map*
<https://aspencsg.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b551d018f08dff51178c763b7&id=0b36798eb4&e=fe142dac21>
displaying the percent of children likely to benefit from the new CTC
changes at a county level. They found that nearly half of all children
living in rural counties were likely to benefit from changes to the CTC's
income requirements.
