*Find Out How Regional Transportation Decisions Are Made!Plan to Attend -
Let’s Talk Civics: Making Regional Transportation Decisions on May 11*

The League of Women Voters is presenting Let's Talk Civics: How Are
Regional Transportation Decisions Made - including how citizens can get
involved - on Wednesday, May 11 from 5:30 - 7 pm. The online program will
begin with a PowerPoint presentation outlining the structure and function
of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and why their decisions are
so important in shaping our future. Following the presentation, we will
have a robust discussion with three special guests – Hillsborough Mayor
Jenn Weaver who is the current MPO Chair; Chatham County Commission Chair
Karen Howard who is the MPO Vice-Chair; and Durham County Commission
Vice-Chair Wendy Jacobs who is past MPO Chair. They will discuss the role
of the MPO in transportation decision-making, past and current major
projects, challenges with funding, and ways that citizens can more
effectively participate in decisions. There will be time for your questions
and comments.
