Durham County Convenience Sites to Close Temporarily on Friday, July 29 for Staff Development

Bahama, Rougemont, Redwood sites reopen on July 30; Parkwood on Aug. 1



Durham, N.C. - The Durham County General Services Department will close all four of its solid waste and recycling convenience sites on Friday, July 29, 2022, for staff development. Durham County residents with a current 2021-2022 solid waste decal can resume disposal of garbage, recycling and yard waste at the Bahama, Rougemont, and Redwood Sites on Saturday, July 30 at 7 a.m.  The Parkwood Site will reopen on Monday, August 1 at 7 a.m.



Unincorporated residents participating in the County's Roadside Recycling Program (green recycling carts) will have no changes to their recycling collection. Unincorporated residents are reminded that carts should be set out by 6 a.m. on their regularly scheduled pick-up day.



Residents who want to keep track of their recycling collection schedule should download the "Durham County Recycles" mobile application.
