  * The theme for this year's event will follow the national theme of "Honor." Veterans are proud of their military service in defending our Nation. Honor reflects the military value and tradition of answering the call to duty. There is distinct honor in serving to protect our way of life and the Constitution of the United States of America.
  * "The security of our country rests on the shoulders of generations of young men and women who stepped forward to serve in the U.S. military. It is important to honor their courage, commitment, and sacrifice," said Durham County Veteran Services Director Lois Harvin-Ravin. 'An unknown author wrote "We don't know them all, but we owe them all.' The opportunity to once again, celebrate our veterans with an in-person event as we shine a Green Light in honor and in support of our nation's veterans is our opportunity to pay honor toward that debt."
  * The 2022 Veterans Day holiday is Friday, November 11th. The National Ceremony is held each year on Nov. 11 at Arlington National Cemetery, commencing precisely at 11 a.m. with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns.
  * Veterans from all eras of service will be invited to participate in the Walk of Honor during the County's annual celebration of Veterans.
  * Capt. Helen E. Tripp, Manager of Community Paramedics with Durham County Emergency Medical Services, will sing our National Anthem.
  * The event is free and open to the public. The media is encouraged to attend this event of high honor.
