Hello to the Coalition Mailing List,

We are approaching the final month when applications can be submitted for
the Low-Income Homeowners Relief Program in Durham County.  The application
deadline is January 31, 2023, even though property tax payments are due
January 5, 2023.  Attached are a shortened flyer prepared by the Walltown
Community Association and a version of our original flyer in Spanish
prepared by Reinvestment Partners.  Please help to keep spreading the word
about the program through January.

After January 5, 2023, interest will accrue on unpaid bills so the property
tax should be paid by that date.  The homeowner can still apply for a tax
relief grant after paying their tax bill.  If approved, they will receive a
letter with the amount that has been approved and will receive
reimbursement from the Durham Tax Office.  The same is true if their full tax
bill has already been paid by a mortgage holder.

Thank you for your help in getting tax relief for low-income homeowners
throughout Durham County.
