DCHC MPO Seeks Public Comment on Regional Short Range Transportation Plan
Input Requested by July 26

DURHAM, N.C. - Now is the time to give your input on our region's short range transportation plan.  We want to hear from people interested in bicycle, pedestrian, transit, rail, and highway transportation projects and hear how the funding of these projects impacts you.

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO<http://www.dchcmpo.org>) seeks input by July 26. Please weigh in on the upcoming adoption of the FY 2024-2033 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)<https://www.dchcmpo.org/what-we-do/programs-plans/transportation-improvement-program/transportation-improvement-program-2023-2032/transportation-improvement-program-2024-2033>. The TIP identifies highway, bus, rail, bicycle, pedestrian, and other transportation projects for this region over the next 10 years. Projects in the DCHC MPO TIP are a subset of projects from the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP)<https://connect.ncdot.gov/projects/planning/Pages/State-Transportation-Improvement-Program.aspx>, which contains projects across all of North Carolina. The first four years of the TIP must also match the first four years of the DCHC MPO Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).

Residents and other stakeholders are asked to review the FY 2024-2033 TIP<https://www.dchcmpo.org/what-we-do/programs-plans/transportation-improvement-program/transportation-improvement-program-2023-2032/transportation-improvement-program-2024-2033> on the DCHC MPO website<http://www.dchcmpo.org> and provide comments at www.bit.ly/FY24-33TIP<http://www.bit.ly/FY24-33TIP>, or by email<mailto:kelly.fomenko at dchcmpo.org>, or by calling (919) 503-4119 no later than July 26.

Residents are encouraged to provide comments directly to the DCHC MPO Board, either in person or virtually, at the Board's public hearing for this item on Wednesday, August 9, at 9 a.m<https://dchcmpo.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx>.
