Durham Mayor Presents 2024 State of the City Address

Social Hour and Address are free and open to the public; YouTube livestream will also be provided



What: 2024 State of the City Address



Who: City of Durham Mayor Leonardo Williams



When: Tuesday, April 9, 2024



Where:

  *   Social Hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Durham Convention Center, 301 W. Morgan St.
  *   State of the City Address from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Carolina Theatre, 309 W. Morgan St.



Event Program:

  *   Mayor Leonardo Williams will present his first State of the City Address to provide an outline of his key objectives and priorities for the City of Durham.



  *   The two-hour event begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour in the Durham Convention Center featuring the John Brown Jazz Ensemble, the Hillside High School Civic Action Project Expo Winners, Discover Durham, and Echo NC, a nonprofit working with youth and entrepreneurs in Durham.


  *   The address begins at 7 p.m. in The Carolina Theatre. In addition to Mayor Williams' remarks, the Durham Symphony Orchestra, the North Carolina Central University Sound Machine Marching Band, and the City of Durham Poet Laureate D.J. Rogers will perform.



  *   For residents, stakeholders, and news media unable to attend this free event in person, the address will also be livestreamed on the City's YouTube<https://www.youtube.com/CityofDurhamNC> channel beginning at 7 p.m.



  *   On-demand viewing will also be available the following day on the Mayor's State of the City Address webpage<https://www.durhamnc.gov/4002/State-of-the-City-Address>.
