Step It Up Durham Walk April 14 Event part of the national Step It Up

Durham residents concerned about the large scale and local effects of global
warming will rally together April 14 to urge Congress to cut

2007 campaign, the largest day of citizen action focusing on global
warming in our nation's history.

introduction for many Durham residents to the progress of
revitalization occurring in downtown Durham, as the walk will pass
Brightleaf Square, City Hall, the Armory, the Carolina Theater, and
the Durham Arts Council.

Garden Delights: Photographs by Seny Norasingh
While recovering from a violent mugging three years ago, Seny Norasingh
began shooting the extreme close-up color photographs of flowers and insects
that comprise the series Garden Delights. In one such image, the
iridescent, delicate wings of a flower fly shimmer above the brilliant
yellow stamens and pink petals of a rain lily. With these technically sharp
and lusciously colored photographs, Norasingh applies his craft to an old
love, horticulture. ³It was something I could do during my recovering,²
Norasingh explains. ³Not having to deal with people and to explain my
disfigured face at the time helped the healing.² Seny Norasingh is a 2 time
NC Press Photographer of the Year.

THE PILLOWMAN

"Once upon a time, in an unnamed totalitarian state, the police question a
writer about a series of crimes ‹ which bear disturbing
similarities to his short stories... An appallingly funny, unsettling tale,
and an exhilarating theatrical experience from the author of THE
BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE, A SKULL IN CONNEMARA, and THE LIEUTENANT OF
INISHMORE."

³It's the scariest, darkest, most hilarious thing I've ever seen ...
THEPILLOWMAN is McDonagh at his best: exhilarating theater featuring tightly
crafted, tense, edge-of-your- seat drama coexisting with dark, dark, VERY
dark comedy.² Jay O¹Berski

Tickets are $10 on Wed/Thurs, and $15 Fri/Sat/Sun.
