Durham, N.C. – Durham County Commissioner Lewis Cheek will hold a news
conference on December 13 at 10:00a.m. to address inquiries regarding his
service record.  When questions about his presence surfaced a few weeks
ago, he promised to provide an answer in the near future.  Thursday
morning, Cheek will explain his absence. The meeting will be held in the
Durham County Commissioners Chambers located on the second floor of the
Durham County Administrative Complex at 200 E. Main Street.

Cheek has served on the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) since 2004,
