Subject: Volunteer for Kramden!

David,

The Kramden Institute is a RTP-based charitable organization that collects, refurbishes and donates computers to needy kids. Imagine not having a PC at home and surviving in middle school or high school these days. We seek a few current or former teachers/educators who are willing to work with us weekly to support our Education Team.



We are a volunteer run and driven charitable organization with only two full-time employees and over 1,600 volunteers. We have given out over 3,450 PCs to date We need your help. We have many PCs to give out and need to work with the many schools (administrators, principals, some school social workers) who are selecting the recipient students and also help to coordinate and implement the School Give-Away days.



Have you been looking to volunteer and give to the community? This may be the perfect place for you!



Tasks include:

Identifying the schools and creating contacts at individual schools or possibly even school systems.

Arranging for students to be selected.

Arranging for give-away dates

Arranging to have the PCs shipped to the schools

Going to the schools and helping implement the give-aways. Representing Kramden there.

Working with Kramden's in-house Award Days too!

To volunteer: Contact us at volunteers at kramden.org and tell us about you.. We will arrange for a time to work with us and learn about each other.

Then, check out our website, there is a volunteer page at http://www.kramden.org/volunteer and you will find some more information but also a link for a new volunteer information sign up sheet link. Fill out the sheet and bring it with you when you come in. Directions to our headquarters are also on the website.
