Anyhow, I don't have time to look at it, but have not heard any rumblings of concern about the plan.

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning
Organization (DCHC MPO) is requesting comments on the draft 2035 Long Range
Transportation Plan (2035 LRTP).  This plan identifies highway, transit, passenger
rail and other transportation investments for our region over the next few
decades.  For more information on the public’s last opportunity to
participate before the plan is formally adopted, see the information below.

A Public Comment
Period on the 

2035 Long Range
Transportation Plan (2035 LRTP) and 

Air Quality
Analysis and Conformity Determination Report

 

The
Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) is
responsible for long range transportation planning in Durham and parts of
Orange and Chatham counties.  The DCHC MPO is requesting comments from
citizens on the 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan (2035 LRTP) and the Air
Quality Analysis and Conformity Determination Report.  The 2035 LRTP lists
future highway, bus transit, light rail, bicycle, pedestrian and other
transportation projects to be implemented through the year 2035, while the Air
Quality Report determines whether the plan meets federal air quality
regulations.  Citizens are encouraged to participate through any of the
following events and media.

 

www.dchcmpo.org -- Web site provides copy of 2035 LRTP and Air
Quality Analysis and Conformity Determination Report, and an email option for
providing comments.

 

Libraries and planning offices – Citizens can review a copy of the Plan and
Report at the main library and land use planning offices of the following counties
and municipalities:

Hill                                                        
*  Town of Carrboro

Public Hearing – Citizens can provide
feedback to local elected officials (Transportation Advisory Committee);
Wednesday, April, 8, 2009, at 9:00AM in the Committee Room (2nd
Floor of Durham City Hall, 101 City Hall Plaza).  Persons with
disabilities will be accommodated -- provisions must be requested at least 48
hours in advance of the meeting.

 

Public Comment Period
-- The public comment period will be open from Monday, March 23, 2009 through
Tuesday, April 21, 2009.  Comments should be forwarded to:
