City of Durham Has a Holiday Treat for Cyclists and Hikers

New Durham Bike and Hike Map Available

 

DURHAM, N.C. - Looking for a holiday gift to compliment that new bicycle
or hiking gear? Well, look no further than the new Durham Bike and Hike
Map!

 

The map is a free publication provided by the City of Durham to promote
cycling and hiking education. It provides information for commuting and
recreational trips as well as identifies the suitability of roads for
cycling and illustrates access points to the American Tobacco Trail,
major shopping centers, and other points of interest.  The map includes
riding tips and provides other useful resources such as emergency
information, bicycle parking, and how to transport your bike on the bus.

 

The map also highlights popular hiking trails in Durham and provides
information on parks and recreation locations. Trails along the Eno
River, the Mountains to Sea Trail, Penny's Bend Nature Preserve, and the
Third Fork Creek Trail are among the areas highlighted.

 

Pick up your free map from any of the following locations:

*         City's Transportation Department, Fourth Floor of City Hall,
located at 101 City Hall Plaza, Durham

*         Durham Parks and Recreation Department, located at 400
Cleveland Street, Durham

*         REI, located at 6911 Fayetteville Road, Durham

*         The Bicycle Chain, located at 639 Broad Street, Durham

website at
