If you've been thinking vaguely about replacing that ailing 15-year old fridge, you might want to get a move on.  These rebates will probably run out quickly.

The North Carolina Energy Office is re-opening the ENERGY STAR® Appliance Rebate and Replacement program for North Carolina residents who recycle and replace an existing appliance with a new ENERGY STAR® qualified appliance purchased on or after January 1, 2012. Purchases must be completed at a North Carolina retail location. Online purchases are NOT eligible for the rebate.The Energy Office is using remaining funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act to fund these rebates. By completing and mailing in an application, you will be eligible to receive a rebate, as funds become available. Rebate applications will be processed in the order they are received. Approved applicants will receive a Visa® Prepaid Card via mail.To qualify for a rebate, complete the online application and follow the instructions listed on the application confirmation page. IMPORTANT NOTE: Recipients of grants in the Hurricane Appliance Replacement Program are not eligible to participate.
