Southside West Revitalization Plans Unveiled

Plans for the Southside West Revitalization Project have been unveiled -
offering the City Council and the public a look at what's in store for
the first homeownership phase of the project. Phase One includes 35
homeownership lots and is expected to cost approximately $4.4 million.
City staff and project managers explain what the lots, homes, and
neighborhood will look like in this episode of "City Hall This Week."

City Council Postpones Master Development Agreement Approval for
Southside

A vote on whether to approve a Master Development Agreement with the
City's primary partner for the Southside Revitalization Project has been
postponed. McCormack Baron Salazar Development, Inc. is expected to
develop the rental properties associated with the project, while the
City provides funding for the demolition of the existing streets and
infrastructure as well as mass grading for the entire site. The City
Council postponed approving a formal agreement to that effect until the
developer can receive proposals from general contractors. The developer
will also finalize the selection of the equity investor for the project.

City Council Receives Input on Draft 2012-2013 Annual Action Plan

The City Council is considering the feedback it received during a public
hearing on the draft 2012-2013 Annual Action Plan. The plan serves as
the City's application for federal housing and community development
funds. During the public hearing, representatives from organizations
providing affordable housing, public services, and assistance to those
who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless weighed in on the
City's proposed use of those funds. The plan must be submitted to the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by May 15.
