Durham County Library Hosts Margaret Maron Roast and Toast,
the Final Event of Durham Reads Together 2012

About:                  Durham County Library's community read event, Durham Reads Together 2012, features the Judge Deborah Knott mystery series by North Carolina bestselling author, Margaret Maron. The concluding event in the series, a Margaret Maron Roast and Toast, will be held on Sunday, October 7, at the Ambassador Ballroom, Washington Duke Inn, 3001 Cameron Blvd. at 2:30 p.m.
Members of Margaret Maron's long standing writing group, the Weymouth 7, will roast and toast their friend.  The writing group takes its name from the Weymouth Center, a cultural center and writers' retreat in Southern Pines, where the members gather at least twice a year to write. Diane Chamberlain, Brenda Witchger and Katy Munger will attend. Joining the authors will be Maron's long time friend and Quail Ridge Books and Music owner, Nance Olson.
Chamberlain is the author of many novels including The Lies We Told, The Midwife's Confession and this year's The Good Father.  Witchger contributed to Tar Heel Dead: Tales of Mystery and Mayhem from North Carolina, a mystery anthology introduced by Maron. Munger, a Durham native, has written three mystery series. She writes as Gallagher Gray for the Hubbert & Lil series, under her own name for her "humorous, semi-hardboiled" Casey Jones series and her as Chaz McGee  for her most recent series, the Dead Detective. The authors will be signing their books following the program. This event is co-sponsored by the Washington Duke Inn.
