Durham County Library Hosts Blaxploitation Film Fest

Program:             Blaxploitation Film Fest
Date:                     Thursdays in February
                                February 7 :        Shaft
                                February 21:       Superfly
                                February 28:       Foxy Brown
Time:                    6:30 p.m.
Location:             Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.
Cost:                      Free and open to the public


About:  As part of a system-wide celebration of African-American History Month, Durham County Library will screen films from the 70s that spawned the Blaxploitation genre. The movies will be shown throughout the month of February at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.



Films include Shaft (Feb. 7) starring Richard Roundtree, Superfly (Feb. 21) starring Ron O'Neal and Foxy Brown (Feb. 28) starring NC film star Pam Grier. Screenings begin at 6:30 p.m. A brief discussion will follow each movie. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided.
