Durham Police Chief Search Community Forums Set

DURHAM, N.C. - Durham residents interested in providing feedback for the City of Durham to consider in the search for the next police chief should mark their calendars now for two community forums later this month.

The forums are part of the national search process to allow the public to provide input directly to Developmental Associates, LLC<https://www.developmentalassociates.com/>, the search agency hired<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/7967> to help the City. The dates and locations of the two forums are as follows:

·         Monday, December 14 at 6 p.m., Holton Career and Resource Center<http://durhamnc.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Holton-Career-Resource-Center-19>, 401 N. Driver St.

·         Tuesday, December 15 at 5:45 p.m., El Centro Hispano<http://www.elcentronc.org/index.asp>, 600 E. Main St. (en Español)
Residents who can't attend either of these meetings, but still wish to provide feedback, are encouraged to visit http://bit.ly/durhampolicechiefsearch, a website created by the City's search agency to collect resident and stakeholder input.

According to City Manager Tom Bonfield<http://durhamnc.gov/250/City-Manager>, the recruitment process is expected to take about four months, with the first phase now underway as Developmental Associates, LLC begins gathering information from the public as well as various community stakeholders, including the police department staff and other city leaders.
