[Durham INC] 67th Annual Watts-Hillandale July 4 Parade

Dear Neighbors:

 

You are invited to join us a ten o'clock on the morning of the Fourth at
Club Boulevard and Oakland Avenue for 67th Annual WHH July 4 parade and
celebration.  We march, say the Pledge, and sing the "Star Spangled Banner."
Afterward, we share a cold drink.  Bring your kids.  Wear red white, and
blue.  Bring  a flag to march with or let me know and I will fix one up for
you.  Part of our tradition is displaying the flags of participants' home
states and countries.  E pluribus unum.  We have a huge collection of flags
and chances are good we will can satisfy your request.

 

This is Durham's oldest July 4 observance.  It is older than the
neighborhood association that now coordinates it.  It started as a
neighborhood affair, but quickly became an event for the whole town.
Everyone is welcome.
